Pinoy Badminton Club vs Mason Street Badminton Club (May 11, 2012)
Pinoy Badminton Club has a history of friendly games with the Vietnamese community playing at Altona. The tradition continues with a contest with Mason St Badminton Club (formerly known as Keilor Road Badminton Club), composed mostly of Australian-Vietnamese players.
The Mason St Club is known for its skillful and seasoned players, being regulars at the WSBA seasonal competitions.

2012 Yonex Australian Grand Prix Gold (Apr 03, 2012)
Update, 5.00pm Wednesday 4th April
We have just been informed that the 2012 Yonex Australian Open GP Gold will, unfortunately, not be televised live after all!
Foxtel will show it on Wednesday 11th April 7am – 10am and Thursday 12th April, around 3 - 4pm.
The 2012 Yonex Australian Open GP Gold is now being held in Sydney.
The finals will be played on Easter Day, Sunday 8th April and will be shown live on Foxtel, on a dedicated channel.
This is a great opportunity for Australians to see some of the top players in the world. Tell your family and friends about it.

2012 Altona Open & Graded (Apr 02, 2012)
Congratulations to Ann-Louise Slee on her great triple win in the Open Grade, Singles, Doubles with Eugenia Tanaka and Mixed with Nelson Oon. Ann- Louise was also the winner of the CMWong Trophy which is awarded to the best performed player in the Open Grade.

Badminton Victoria's Annual General Meeting for 2011 (Mar 19, 2012)
Badminton Victoria's Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 17th March.
WSBA was well represented with Ron Gray being re-elected to the Board.
Pat Daw was inducted as a Life Member of Badminton Victoria.
Cam Quyen Nguyen and her Southern Land teammates were named the winners of BV's competition to design a new logo.

2013 Under 17 Australasian Carnival, incorporating the June Bevan Trophy (Mar 17, 2012)
Badminton Victoria has chosen Western Surburbs Badminton Association as the Host for this prestigious Carnival which will be held over Easter next year. Three Victorian Associations applied for this Carnival.
Planning for this event is already underway and WSBA will be looking for volunteers to assist over the ten day carnival as well as the time between now and then.

Congratulations to the B Grade Champions from the South Australian Veterans Tournament, WSBA Shuttlebusters.

Victorian School Sports Awards - Ernest Yam (Mar 16, 2012)
WSBA congratulates Ernest Yam on being awarded a Sporting Blue Award. This award is given to students in Victorian Government Schools who have excelled in their sport.
Ernest is currently ranked 7th in the National Under 15 Singles, 3rd in Mixed Doubles and 4th in Boys Doubles. Ernest was the Under 13 Victorian Champion in 2010.
